SNOW in the PYRENEES

SNOW in the PYRENEES!

Winter has arrived - at last - in the Pyrenean mountain range. Temperatures have dropped to minus 2° here on the plain in Toulouse and heavy snowfalls have been recorded in all the ski resorts. Most of them have taken the precaution of closing the lifts today due to heavy snow and high winds.

This means that from next weekend - when cold, dry, sunny weather is forecast - skiing will be at its best in the Pyrenees. Forecasts for February suggest that the cold snowy weather will continue.

You can check this out - on the ground so to speak - by looking at the various webcams at the resorts:
ST LARY

and on the Piau-Engaly webcam (the resort just south of St Lary)

and La MONGIE: http://www.tourmalet.fr/rubrique.php3?id_rubrique=13

NOW is the time to reserve a weekend break in any of our resorts: St Lary, la Mongie, Ax-les-Thermes or Font Romeu. Ryanair are running a promotion on flights into the region (Pau, Biarritz, Carcassonne, Perpignan) at the moment as well. Just contact Sylvie at sylvie@francealacarte.com giving her your dates, numbers (adults & children) and desired resort and she'll get you a quote.

French school holidays run from 12 Feb to 11 March ... if you can possibly avoid this period.

When the snow gets to the Alps we'll let you know!

à bientôt

Simon
